The J&A Oben Foundation shares the love of Christmas with Orphans of the St. Augustine Orphanage.

In a bid to extend the love of Christmas to the less privileged, the J&A Oben Foundation offered Christmas gifts and basic needs to orphans of the St. Augustine Orphanage at Mehanda 1, Yaounde, Cameroon. This took place on the 18th of December 2023 during an outreach visit by the J&A Oben Foundation to the St. Augustine Orphanage.

Stating the importance of the event, the Coordinator of the J&A Oben Foundation, Miss Malaika Doualla, highlighted that catering to the needs of the less privileged is a fundamental pillar of the J&A Oben Foundation. “Seeing these little ones receive their gifts with so much joy is an assurance to us that they live with the hope that someone cares for them,” she said. “This was just another opportunity for the J&A Oben Foundation to make the children know that they are seen and loved and to encourage them to hope for the best in life,” Miss Doualla added.

Mrs. Amougou Augustine, founder of the orphanage, expressed her joy for the love and warmth the Foundation has shown towards the orphans, especially during the Christmas season.

Mrs. Amougou explained that her passion to love and cater for people stems from her childhood. "Being an only child to my mother, I was taught at a tender age that everyone I see is my brother and sister, so I grew up with the heart to love and share with everyone I meet."

The orphans expressed their joy through different songs, drama, and dance presentations. It was indeed a moment of pleasantries exchanged between the children and the staff of the J&A Oben Foundation which ended with a common meal.
